Building offers premier downtown location and superior wellness benefits
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (September 1, 2021)— When Tipsy Elves sought a healthy, creative and accessible space for its expanding business in San Diego, they knew where to go. The clothing company was co-founded a decade ago by a dentist and lawyer who designed ugly Christmas sweaters from two desks at Irvine Company’s Symphony Towers in Downtown San Diego.
Ever since its appearance on Shark Tank in 2013 and receiving an investment from Robert Herjavec, Tipsy Elves has been on an upward trajectory. It has grown into a multi-million dollar enterprise with a dynamic product line covering many holidays. Officials announced today the company has leased 7,500 square feet on the 14th floor of Irvine Company’s nearby Wells Fargo Plaza.

As with all Irvine Company workplace communities, the “Work smart. Live Well,” concept is thoroughly incorporated with KINETIC®, a state-of-the-art fitness center with resort-style locker rooms, strength training and a group exercise suite and The Commons, a WiFi-enabled open-air space that infuses energy and creativity. Dining options include the on-site and beloved Plaza Deli, and many other eateries close by.
“The appeal of Wells Fargo Plaza was that sweet spot of a space that provides a creative and aesthetic vibe and security. We weren’t sure that we could find that, but we’ve found a space that is really well suited to our needs,” said Gavin Sorey, Director of People for Tipsy Elves. “We have some pockets of ocean view and can see out to Point Loma and over to some of the mountains. The amenities were really appealing to us as well, including the fitness center and the outdoor space/patio work and gathering spaces.”

Built in 1984, the 24-story Wells Fargo Plaza building has nearly 500,000 square feet of office space and is LEED Gold-certified. It contains all of the workplace essentials for a young, thriving business. Among these are full-service banking and ATM, EV charging stations, convenient and secure parking, and bike storage.
The location of Wells Fargo Plaza is in prime downtown San Diego, with access to I-5 just a block away, complimentary shuttle to San Diego International Airport and panoramic city and waterfront views. The historic Gaslamp Quarter is walkable and also easily accessible from the downtown trolley station.
