Orange County jumped five spots on CBRE’s Tech Talent Scorecard, ranking 21 out of 50 major North American markets. The ranking is part of CBRE’s annual Tech Talent Report, which ranks the top 50 markets based on their ability to attract and grow tech talent. OC is one of only two markets to move up in the 2020 rankings. For average tech talent wage, OC ranks even higher, coming in at 11 with an average tech talent wage of $100,869, just behind Los Angeles.
Irvine Spectrum is the heart of OC’s innovation corridor, where 900 tech companies, including Amazon and Blizzard, thrive alongside visionary startups and provide 100,000 jobs. With a deep talent pool thanks to the UC Irvine STEM talent pipeline and convenient access to SoCal and beyond, Irvine offers ideal connectivity for new startups and established tech companies.
This corporate connectivity is part of the Irvine Master Plan’s original concept for the Irvine Spectrum District in the 1980s as a hub for tech and innovation companies. Today, it offers professionals who move here the best of work and the best of life, with 150+ dining, retail and entertainment experiences, plus resort-style living.
